Specific Need

MCLC is requesting community support to make enhancements to our daycare playground. After being open for two years, we are learning more about how our outdoor space is used and identifying new needs that will further enrich and support children’s outdoor play experiences. These improvements are intended to create a safer, more engaging, and more functional environment for our children. A basic list of items needed for this playground enhancement includes a shade structure, shade fabric, concrete, trenching, rock, landscape fabric, pipe, and a catch basin.

Mission

The MCLC’s mission is to provide high-quality, affordable childcare to families while ensuring sustainable, equitable wages for early childhood staff through community support and long-term investment. Guided by a board of seven local community leaders, MCLC currently serves 52 local children and is committed to continued growth, program improvement, and responsible stewardship of resources to meet the evolving needs of families and the community.

Profile

MCLC is a licensed, non-profit 501(c)(3) childcare center serving children ages six weeks through school age. Formed by local Milford community members, MCLC was established to address a critical childcare gap in Milford, Nebraska, with the goal of closing a documented 50 percent childcare deficit and expanding access to high-quality early childhood care for families in Milford and surrounding communities. As a nonprofit organization, MCLC is committed to affordability, accepts childcare subsidy, and prioritizes inclusive access for working families. Through community investment and strong local leadership, MCLC supports children’s development while building strong foundations for a healthy future.
